The other night a few friends and I were grouped up playing Call of Duty MW2 on our XBOX 360s. During one of the breaks between game sessions, the following conversation took place:
Yo Chris, where is your brother? One of the members of the group asked. Lets call him John.
It was rare that my brother would miss one of these Call of Duty gatherings, but he had a good reason.
Oh, for some reason his 360 isn’t reading games anymore, looks like its busted. I think his warranty is out too. A simple response, all the answer that should have been needed…right?
That’s fuckin’ Microsoft for you. I swear their shit is programmed to break right after the warranty goes out so you have to buy a new one. I don’t even feel bad when I go buy a new one and throw the old one in the box and return that shit. Anything they can do to get money from you right?

Really? WOW!
John’s argument…well, it sucks. Microsoft isn’t getting hurt by your actions, not one bit. They have already made their money when your local retailer bought a truck full of the consoles. You are hurting your local retailer, you are hurting the next gamer that buys a system and takes it home and its broken. You are hurting yourself for being so ignorant.
Wait! What? This is a World of Warcraft blog? Well, if that’s the case, on to the WoW stuff!
This is a simple case of someone jumping right to conclusions. The console was broke, it MUST be Microsoft’s fault. It couldn’t have been the fact that the console was one of the original ones sold in our small town, making it almost 5 years old. It certainly couldn’t have been that my brother had that thing on every day playing games, watching movies and listening to music. No way could it have been normal wear and tear on a system, it HAD to be Microsoft’s fault for making a poor product.
Pointing blame is easy. Stay blind to facts and simple point your finger at the most likely cause of trouble. Tank died…had to be the healers fault right? Healer died…was the tank not holding aggro! DPS died…it was their own stupid faults.

This is a huge issue that plagues MMOs, especially World of Warcraft. Players assume that those around them are going to screw up and therefore when someone screws up, blame is thrown all around. People get pissed off, bad words get said and in the end no one wins.
Next time someone goes down, don’t immediately throw your finger in the air, pointing at someone else. Look around you, consider your environment. Yes its true that sometimes healers see something shiny in the next room and chase after it instead of healing party members. Tanks do from time to time get tunnel vision and forget about the ranged mob hitting the healer. DPS do forget that black circles on the ground and fire are in fact not their friends. However there are times when the tank screws up and gets himself killed. The healer does stand in fire or the aforementioned black stuff. DPS have been seen running out of fire and simply don’t get a heal.
Pointing blame is easy, its looking at a situation and figuring out what really happened that’s hard. Try it some time!

I blame U!
I’d blame him too
